Spanish club Real Madrid announced it will play a friendly match against German Schalke, as part of its preparations for the new football season, in a match that will be the sixth for the royal team during the preparation period.
Real Madrid will meet Schalke on Sunday, August 16, at exactly 5 pm Spanish time, at "Veltins Arena" stadium, the stronghold of the German team in the city of Gelsenkirchen.
The match comes within a busy preparatory program for Real Madrid, which began its preparations for the season under the leadership of coach Jose Mourinho, as the team has already played two friendly matches against Alcorcon and Leganes.
The royal team will complete its preparatory program with a match against Fiorentina on August 1 in Austria, then Ferencvaros of Hungary in Budapest on the 8th of next month, before visiting Spanish Deportivo La Coruna on the 12th of the same month.
The preparation period is expected to witness the gradual completion of the team's ranks with the return of the international players, after Real Madrid began its preparations in mid-July without a number of its players who participated in the World Cup.
The Madrid team will begin the competitions of the next season with a match against Espanyol in the Spanish League on August 22.
