Archie Thompson, former star of Belgian club Lierse, is considered one of the most prominent players in the history of the Australian national team, having played more than 50 matches for his country and successfully scoring more than 28 goals in various competitions.
What match still sticks in your mind with the Australian national team?
"I played more than 50 matches in the Australian national team jersey, and the 2005 World Cup qualifying playoff match against Uruguay, on their home ground, remains the most ingrained in my memory."
How do you evaluate the performance of the Australian national team in the current World Cup edition?
"I see that the team's performance was very good, especially since it includes a very young group, having 17 players participating in the World Cup for the first time is amazing."
Do you think Australia achieved the goal it came to the World Cup for?
"Belief in the team's capabilities was always present, and the prevailing belief is that it is capable of making history."
Who are the Australian players who caught your attention more than others?
"Iranqunda, Volpato, O'Connor, Herrington, Boss, and Patrick Beach."
How do you evaluate the performance of the Australian national team's coach so far?
"He is a coach who understands football well, I have played alongside him before, and I have watched him coach, and he has a great mentality."
How do you see the World Cup match between Australia and Egypt?
"I think it will be a very balanced match between the two teams."

"I see that defense is a point of strength for both teams, and offensive quality may be the decisive factor in deciding the match."
