One of the European federations officially announced today the withdrawal of confidence from Gianni Infantino, president of the International Football Association "FIFA", in light of the campaign of criticisms faced by the Swiss in recent days.
Infantino has faced sharp criticism over the past period, after his proposal to sell a percentage of FIFA's shares to external investors to oversee the World Cup tournaments, before the decision was reversed.
The Welsh Football Association confirmed that it no longer supports Infantino and his continuation as FIFA president.

The Welsh Association said in an official statement reported by the trusted journalist "Ben Jacobs": "The Football Association of Wales hereby confirms its withdrawal of support for the candidature of Mr Gianni Infantino for re-election as FIFA President for the 2027–2031 term".
The statement added: "The failures that occurred in the recent period, at the level of procedures taken, leadership, values, management, and communication with the rest of the federations, have led the Welsh Association to lose confidence in Infantino as FIFA president."
It concluded: "Not putting the interest of football first is unacceptable, and the Welsh Football Association has officially contacted FIFA regarding its position on Infantino's situation."
Recent reports confirmed that UEFA does not want Infantino to continue and presents the latter with two options: the first is his immediate resignation from the FIFA presidency, while the second is the withdrawal of confidence from him by members of the European Union.
