Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly directed thanks and appreciation to our national team, after the heroic performance in the World Cup.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup from the round of 16 after the defeat against Argentina in the round of 16.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Football Association for the effort it exerted in the past period.
The Prime Minister said: "We are proud of you.. and we thank you all for the pleasure and happiness you have provided to the masses of Egyptians, Arabs, Africans, and even various countries of the world. Despite all the challenges, you were an honorable model for Egyptian football, and in yesterday's match you were a difficult opponent to the former world champion, and by the testimony of football experts in various countries of the world, you deserved respect and appreciation".
The Prime Minister directed deep thanks to all countries, officials, and friendly peoples who supported our team throughout the tournament, in a scene that delighted the masses of Egyptians, and he also directed thanks to all Egyptian fans, whether inside or outside, who supported the team in the stadiums and accommodation headquarters.
The Prime Minister affirmed that our team and our national team presented more than our expectations, saying: "Our team's heroic performance showed the great sense of belonging among our youth and children, and this is what pleased me the most in the tournament".
The Prime Minister added: "The Egyptian fans are waiting for you, to celebrate together this achievement, this performance, and this giving, and to express to you our appreciation for the efforts you exerted amid many challenges in this largest tournament, and the most watched in the world".
