Sport newspaper revealed the price required from Barcelona to sell its player Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain.
Ferran Torres
Club: Barcelona
According to Sport, Barcelona does not mind the player's departure during the current summer transfer window, but it insists on getting at least 50 million euros to approve the completion of the deal, especially since Ferran is considered the only pure striker in the team's ranks currently and possesses great international experience.
Barcelona's management had feared the departure of one of the prominent names this summer, as Raphinha's name had been linked with leaving the team earlier, before attention turned to Ferran Torres, who has not received the expected role despite the good numbers he has provided, and his contract has only one season left.
Paris Saint-Germain has entered strongly into the race to sign the Spanish striker as part of rebuilding the attacking line, after Gonzalo Ramos left for Milan, while Randall Kolo Muani is close to leaving for Juventus following his unsuccessful trial with Tottenham.
Coach Luis Enrique is one of the most prominent supporters of the deal, as he is looking for a striker who can play in more than one attacking position, and sees in Ferran Torres a distinctive opportunity in the transfer market, especially since he knows the player well from his time with the Spanish national team.
Barcelona is considering renewing the player's contract, as the club does not prefer to enter the new season with a player who has only one year left on his contract, while renewal negotiations have not yet gone beyond the probing stage.
Reports indicate that Paris Saint-Germain is prepared to submit an offer approaching 45 million euros including variables, but Barcelona insists on getting the full 50 million euros before giving the green light to complete the deal.
If Ferran Torres departs, that could give a big boost to Barcelona's moves to sign Julián Álvarez, given the team's need to strengthen the center-forward position, with the possibility of signing an additional striker if a suitable opportunity arises in the market.
Barcelona's management is seeking to achieve some sales in the coming period to support its financial position, and has placed other names on the list of potential departures, including Balde and Casadó, although the expected financial returns from their departure are much lower than the value of the potential Ferran deal.
Torres participated in 49 matches last season and managed to score 21 goals and provide 3 assists.
