Reports have revealed that FC Barcelona has signed Mikailou Baza, defender for German club Hamburger SV, during the ongoing summer transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, Barcelona has reached an agreement with Hamburger SV to sign the young defender.
Baza has signed a three-year contract with FC Barcelona, valid until the 2029 season.
Initially, Baza will start under Julian Biletti in the reserve team, although the plan is for him to gradually become part of the first team's dynamics, at least in training.
Coincidentally, Baza is the cousin of Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Tah, who was previously one of the players Flick wanted to bring to Barcelona to strengthen the defense.
Baza is considered one of the most prominent rising talents in European football in recent times.
Baza will be teammates with Hamza Abdel Karim in Barcelona's youth team, should the Egyptian player return to training with the reserve team again.
Hamza Abdel Karim has been with Barcelona's first team since the start of the pre-season, but he has not featured in the first two La Liga matches.
