Sherif Ekramy, Pyramids goalkeeper, announced his retirement from football after a career spanning more than 30 years.

Ekramy wrote on his official account: "The time has come to make a decision that every player knows will come one day, but it is never easy, because you are not leaving a job, but leaving an entire life".
He continued, "Thank you to every club I had an experience with, Feyenoord and Al Gouna, each one of you added a lot to me as a human being, not just as a player. Thank you to Pyramids, where I concluded my career, and I was fortunate to be part of a generation that carved its name in the club's history".
He added, "But Al Ahly will always have a different place in my heart. Al Ahly is not just a club I played for, but the place where I was born, grew up, learned, and matured. Through it, people got to know me and I achieved everything I dreamed of as a player. Al Ahly is different from anything else".
He added, "Thank you to every coach who trained me, and to every player who shared the locker room with me, and to every worker and administrator who worked in silence to help us succeed".
He continued, "Thank you to all the fans who supported me on the journey, and thank you also to everyone who criticized me, because you were the reason for the person I have become today. I lived with you the most beautiful moments of my life, and learned from you in the most difficult ones".

He concluded, "Thank you to my family who were present in every moment, and who sometimes endured the pressures of this profession more than I did. From the bottom of my heart, I say to you and to football, thank you".
Ekramy won 8 Egyptian League titles with Al Ahly, the Dutch Cup with Feyenoord, 5 Egyptian Super Cups, 3 Egypt Cups (2 with Al Ahly and one with Pyramids), 4 African Champions League titles (3 with Al Ahly and one with Pyramids), two African Super Cups with Al Ahly, and the Confederation Cup with Al Ahly.
In his career as a goalkeeper, Ekramy played 371 matches, conceding 280 goals and keeping a clean sheet in 166 matches.
