Saudi newspaper Al-Wiam reported that Jeddah Union Club will begin its official move to sign Al-Ahly and Egypt national team midfielder Imam Ashour in the coming hours.

The report clarified that Jeddah Union will move to sign the Egyptian international after the financial recovery.
The report added that Jeddah Union is expected to send its offer to Al-Ahly within hours.
Imam Ashour is under contract with Al-Ahly until the summer of 2028.
Days ago, Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya revealed that Jeddah Union had submitted an offer to sign Al-Ahly player Imam Ashour.
According to Al-Riyadiya, the offer reached 6 million dollars to sign the player, in addition to 4 million dollars as the player's salary.
The newspaper indicated that Al-Ahly rejected the offer and insisted on receiving a larger financial compensation.
Al-Ahly also received an offer from Al-Ittihad to sign Marwan Attia for 3 million dollars in addition to 2.5 million dollars as an annual salary.
The duo participated in Egypt's 5 matches at the 2026 World Cup.
Imam Ashour, 28 years old, played in 247 matches, scoring 53 goals and providing 37 assists during that time.
The former Ghazl El-Mahalla and Zamalek player joined Al-Ahly in the summer of 2023, coming from Danish club Midtjylland.
Ashour scored two goals in the 2026 World Cup, the first against Belgium with a rocket shot, and the second against Australia with a powerful header.
The two goals were Imam Ashour's first international goals, having played 34 matches for the Pharaohs.
