Journalistic reports revealed that Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has settled on his next destination, amid clubs competing to secure his services during the current summer transfer window, topped by Barcelona club.

Romero succeeded in attracting the interest of several clubs in the summer transfer window, including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Arsenal.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported, citing Argentine reports, that Cristian Romero ultimately chose the offer to move to Atletico Madrid that summer.

It explained that Romero's preference to move to Atletico Madrid comes due to the insistence of the team's coach, Diego Simeone, on signing him during three consecutive transfer periods.
