According to the South African "SABC Sport" website, the duo Peter Shalulile and Chigovats Mabasa were offered to Pyramids Club, following the appointment of Rolani Mokwena as the team's coach to compensate for Feston Mayele.
Shalulile, the historical top scorer for Sundowns, his contract ended, while Mabasa separated from Orlando Pirates and became a free agent.

The report added that Shalulile wants to revive his professional opportunities outside South Africa, after his negotiations with Tunisian Esperance and Moroccan Wydad faltered last January.
In contrast, Mabasa spent the second half of last season on loan to Stellenbosch, before failing to reach an agreement regarding a permanent transfer, and currently continues training individually while awaiting the determination of his next destination.

The report clarified that Shalulile and Mabasa were presented to the Pyramids administration as two options to bolster the forward line, without Rolani Mokwena having yet decided his position on contracting with either of them, despite interest from South African league clubs in signing them, while the duo's priority remains external professionalism.
Mokwena assumed the coaching of Pyramids succeeding the Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurcic.
Mokwena contributed to Sundowns winning 5 titles during his tenure by securing the league title in South Africa 4 times and winning the African League title in its first edition.
He also led the Mouloudia Algiers team to win the Algerian Super Cup title.
