Real Oviedo's winger delivered one of his best performances in the Egypt national team jersey, after assisting Egypt's second goal against Argentina, as he shone in the match that saw an Egyptian goal disallowed amid widespread refereeing controversy after the encounter.
Despite Egypt's exit from the tournament following the loss to Argentina, the player's performance attracted the interest of several clubs that began inquiring about his contractual status and the possibility of signing him during the current summer transfer window.
According to Spanish reports, Oviedo refuses to part with Haitham without receiving the full release clause of 12 million euros, especially since his former club Villarreal will receive 40% of his transfer value to any team.
Haitham Hassan participated in two matches with the Egypt national team during the 2026 World Cup and assisted a goal against Argentina, and also contributed to scoring another goal in a wonderful way, but it was disallowed after a video review.
Haitham Hassan contributed to Oviedo's promotion to the Spanish Primera Division, but the team returned to the second division after one season.
Haitham participated in 38 matches during the past season with Oviedo and managed to assist three goals without scoring.
