The French Football Federation submitted an appeal to FIFA to cancel the yellow card received by Michael Olise during the match against Paraguay in the round of 16 of the World Cup.

The card came after a clash with Paraguayan player Matias Galarza, where the latter fell holding his face, while television replays showed that Olise grabbed his shirt without any intervention to the head.
Reuters revealed that the French Federation submitted a request to appeal the yellow card in order to cancel it before the quarter-finals.
The French national team is preparing to face the Moroccan national team in the quarter-finals, and if Olise receives another yellow card, he will miss the semi-finals if the team qualifies.
The United States team had succeeded in a similar appeal after canceling the red card received by Folarin Balogun against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which allowed him to participate in the round of 16.
The report indicated that France's move to appeal Olise's card was not related to the United States' decision in the Balogun case.
The French team achieved an exciting victory against Paraguay with a goal to nothing in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
