The South African newspaper The Citizen revealed the death of Jayden Adams, player of Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African national team.
The cause of death has not been revealed yet, and Mamelodi Sundowns has not announced the news.
Adams was getting a rest period before traveling to Austria to participate in the preparatory camp for the new season with Sundowns.
Adams' death comes days after his participation with South Africa in the 2026 World Cup.
Adams participated in all of South Africa's matches in the group stage of the World Cup, but he missed the match against Canada in the round of 32.
The 21-year-old midfielder had contributed to Sundowns winning the African Champions League title during the past season.
The deceased participated in 37 matches wearing the Sundowns jersey during the past season, scored two goals and assisted another.
