A new Moroccan player is close to transferring to the German league next season, after Raja Club refused to sign him earlier.
The French website "Foot Mercato" said that German club Augsburg wants to sign Tawfiq Ben Tayeb, the Moroccan striker of Union Touarga, during the current summer transfer window.
The site explained that the German club is currently negotiating with its Moroccan counterpart to officially sign Ben Tayeb, especially after the standout performances he delivered last season.
The 24-year-old played last season on loan with Troyes, earning the title of top scorer in the French second division with 18 goals.
Before moving to France, Ben Tayeb was linked with Raja Club in last summer's transfer window, but the Moroccan club rejected the idea of signing him.
Despite his short stature (180 cm), the Moroccan striker has delivered standout performances at all his stops, including Rodez, where he also played on loan the season before last and scored 10 goals in 29 matches in the French second division.
It is worth noting that the German league has seen the arrival of several strong Moroccan talents, the latest being Ismael Saibari, whom Bayern Munich signed during the current summer transfer window.
