Scottish club Celtic continues its serious efforts to sign Egyptian international star Haitham Hassan, winger for Spanish side Real Oviedo, during the ongoing summer transfer window.
One year remains on Haitham Hassan's contract (24 years old) with Oviedo, who were relegated to the Spanish second division, and the contract includes a penalty clause worth 10 million euros.
Haitham Hassan nears Scottish Celtic
According to "Christian Vaquero", the journalist specializing in player transfer market news, Celtic is seeking to return for Haitham Hassan after nearing a deal for Kasper Hoog, the Swiss Young Boys midfielder.
He added via his account on the "X" platform: "The first offer worth 4 million euros was rejected by Real Oviedo, but after Maida's sale, Celtic is expected to return with an offer approaching 5.5 million euros".
Celtic is keen to sign the Egypt national team player, who shone remarkably with his country in the last World Cup, held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, which saw the Pharaohs reach the round of 16.
Journalist George Tsarouchas has indicated Haitham Hassan's imminent move to the Scottish league, where the right winger will play for Celtic.
Tsarouchas noted that Haitham Hassan agreed to join Celtic on a four-year contract, and Real Oviedo also approved the deal provided the financial compensation is increased.
