Omar Gaber told On Sport channel: "We wished to win at the start of the league; we delivered a reasonable first half, but the tempo dropped in the second half due to lack of readiness."
He added: "(We don't want to bring down the temple); we are at the beginning of the season and what comes next will be better. We could have finished the match in the first half and scored, but we will focus on what lies ahead."
He concluded: "We will close the chapter on today's match, work on our shortcomings, and this is a lesson for us. I thank the fans for their support and backing, which is not surprising from Zamalek's supporters."
