Ahmed Gaballah, head of the medical staff of the club's first football team, revealed that the player underwent medical examinations and magnetic resonance imaging, which confirmed his cruciate ligament tear.

A source confirmed to Botolaat that Al-Ahly club decided to remove Belamri's name from the team's list in the new season, after his injury which may cause him to be absent for a period approaching 9 months.

The date for the player to undergo surgery is scheduled to be determined in the coming period, as his injury represents a strong blow to Al-Ahly before the start of the new season.

Al-Ahly will play its second friendly match during its preparation camp currently held in Spain, against the Spanish Europa team tomorrow, Friday, at CEF BOSC DE TOSCA stadium.
