A Moroccan report revealed the latest developments in Al Ahly's negotiations with Maghreb Fez club to sign the Moroccan striker Sofiane Benjdida.

According to the Moroccan platform "Cité Info Sport", the past hours witnessed the first official contact between Al Ahly and Maghreb Fez regarding Sofiane Benjdida.
The report clarified that Maghreb Fez is demanding 4 million dollars as the release clause value in the player's contract, while Al Ahly seeks to reduce the financial compensation and add performance-related bonuses.
The same report mentioned that Al Ahly coach Hussein Ammouta entered the negotiations to convince Benjdida, while the player's family leans toward professional play in Europe.
Benjdida excelled with Maghreb Fez, leading them to win the Moroccan league title, and also received the top scorer award in the championship with 20 goals.
In contrast, Al Ahly has neared finalizing the deal to sign Algerian striker Monsef Bakrar, a player from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.
The Croatian website Jutarnji revealed that Dinamo Zagreb reached an agreement allowing the player to remain with the team until playing the second qualifying round matches of the UEFA Champions League against Swiss side Thun.
The report clarified that the deal reached 3 million euros as the base value, with the possibility of rising to 4 million euros through incentives.
This comes alongside the Croatian club receiving 10% of any future resale value.
Al Ahly seeks to bolster its attack in preparation for the season under the leadership of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, having already signed Oktay Abdullah and Ali Mahmoud from Enppi.
Monsef Bakrar began his career with USM Sétif before moving to Croatian club Istra in the summer of 2022.
Bakrar then transferred to New York City FC in the summer of 2023, before returning to the Croatian league via Dinamo Zagreb last summer.
The 25-year-old played 42 matches with Dinamo Zagreb, scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions.
Internationally, he represented the Algerian national team in 7 matches and scored 2 goals.
