Ahmed Hossam Mido, the Egyptian football legend, praised Tottenham Hotspur's anticipated signing of Omar Marmoush, stating that the latter represents a wonderful addition to the Spurs' ranks.
Tottenham has finalized its agreement with Manchester City regarding the acquisition of Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian international will sign his contract with the Spurs on loan this summer, with an obligatory purchase option for the Spurs worth £50 million, plus an additional £10 million in variables.
Mido knows the atmosphere at Tottenham well, as the former striker previously played for the London club and holds wonderful memories there.
Mido said in an interview with 'talksport': "Tottenham have signed a great player. Omar Marmoush can score goals, works hard for the team, and is a first-class professional."
Mido recalled giving Omar Marmoush his debut when the former Zamalek star was managing Wadi Degla, adding: "I gave him his first professional appearance in the Egyptian Premier League when he was 16 years old, while I was coaching Wadi Degla. I always believed in his abilities and thought he would become a great player."

He explained: "I believe Tottenham really needs Omar Marmoush, and he will give Roberto De Zerbi many options. He can play as a pure striker as well as a left winger. He is now hungry for success and needs Tottenham, as he wasn't playing much with Manchester City."
Mido criticized Omar Marmoush's decision to join Manchester City, adding: "I believe his move to Manchester City was a wrong step for him because he needed to play. He is now 27 years old, which is his prime period as a player. I am confident and sure that he will perform well with Tottenham and that the fans there will love him."
Regarding Omar Marmoush's best position, Mido continued: "Left winger. In Germany, he played as a striker, excelled, and scored goals, but in the English Premier League, I believe his best position is as a left winger because he is skilled at linking up with his teammates and capable of cutting inside to become a second striker."
He added: "Omar is not distinctive when playing with his back to goal. He needs to play between the lines, in spaces, and make runs into the penalty area to get shooting opportunities, but he can also fulfill the role of a striker."
He continued: "We know well that a striker's strength lies in his self-confidence. If Omar Marmoush gains confidence, he will add a lot to Tottenham. But what I guarantee to the Spurs fans is that they have acquired a distinguished professional, a great goalscorer with a unique mentality. I believe Tottenham needs players who possess a winning mentality and are ready to die for the team, and I see Omar Marmoush as one of these types of players."
