The International Football Federation "FIFA" announced the refereeing crew for the Spain and Belgium match in the 2026 World Cup tournament.
The Belgian national team faces its Spanish counterpart tomorrow evening Friday, within the quarter-final matches of the 2026 World Cup competition.
Mahmoud Ashour as a backup video referee in the Spain and Belgium match at the 2026 World Cup
The Egyptian international, Mahmoud Ashour, will be a backup video referee in the Spain and Belgium match.
The match refereeing crew consists of: English Michael Oliver as the field referee, assisted by Stuart Burt as first assistant, Marengo James as second assistant, Ramon Abati as fourth referee, Brazilian Rafael Alves as backup assistant referee, English Gillett Garder as video assistant referee, Croatian Ivan Bibek as video assistant referee assistant, Dickerson Joe as video assistant referee assistant, and Egyptian Mahmoud Ashour as backup video referee.
This is Ashour's eighth appearance in managing video technology, as the most appearing and participating referee in the World Cup.
It is worth noting that the winner of the Spain and Belgium match will face the qualifier from the Morocco and France match.
