Konyaspor's Turkish coach Ilhan Palut emphasized the need for Konya fans to support the Palestine national team B squad in their friendly match scheduled for this Wednesday evening.
Turkish side Konyaspor will face the Palestine national team B squad in a friendly match this Wednesday evening at Konya Municipality Stadium.
Ilhan Palut said during the press conference: "I don't need to say anything about our fans. I am confident that they will provide maximum support for this occasion, and they will support the Palestinian team at least as much as they support us, if not more."
He continued, "For years, we have been witnessing injustice in Palestine and Gaza, which is something we all know. We feel their pain deep within us and hope that the conscience of humanity awakens as soon as possible."
He concluded, "This terrible situation must end, and Palestinian children must go to school and laugh. We want to see these things happen as soon as possible."
The match is part of the Palestine Day events, and the club management distributed flags of the State of Palestine throughout the stadium.
The senior Palestine national team is currently in China to participate in an international friendly tournament featuring New Zealand, Tajikistan, and China.
The Palestine national team drew 2-2 with New Zealand in the first match.
They defeated Tajikistan 4-2 in the second match of the friendly tournament.
