Coach Jorge Jesus made global sports headlines immediately after leading the Portuguese national team to victory over Norway, amid ongoing debate and speculation regarding his stance on bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back into the "Brazil of Europe" squad.

Jesus: It was just a misunderstanding... The door is open for Ronaldo

In response to intense press inquiries about the crisis that recently ignited media attention, the Portuguese coach clarified the situation, stating: "I don't know what will happen in the coming period; all possibilities remain open for me."

He added: "Ronaldo must first settle his future before the issue of his call-up to the national team arises. However, if he plays regularly for his club and has the desire to represent Portugal, he can return at any time he wishes. Why not?"

Jesus further commented on the nature of the dispute: "In my opinion, this did not go beyond being a simple misunderstanding, which is very easy to resolve. As far as I am concerned, things are fine. Regarding the timing of ending this crisis, I do not have a specific answer right now. We must wait to see what the coming days bring, especially since the match has just ended."

Praise from Jesus for the Portuguese national team's performance

Jesus highly praised the technical performance and ideal results achieved by the Portuguese national team, saying: "All the plans we put together proved their validity and success through tangible results on the pitch."

He continued: "The Norwegian national team possesses Erling Haaland, who is currently the best striker in the world, along with Martin Ødegaard, who is among the best globally. This makes them a complete, strong team with massive physical build."

He noted: "You cannot defeat a team as strong as Norway except by delivering exceptional technical skills. We settled the match without needing to enter into complexities and hardships similar to those we faced against Denmark."

He concluded in this regard: "The most important thing is achieving victory and securing qualification. I had great confidence in this team's capabilities, but perhaps I did not expect such an ideal start with four consecutive wins in the first four matches."

Support from Portuguese stars.. Mendes and Cancelo welcome the Don

Portuguese national team stars expressed great welcome towards the approaching end of the crisis and the possibility of the captain's return; left-back Nuno Mendes stated: "Any player is naturally welcome, and we are extremely happy with the results we currently have."

He continued: "If Cristiano returns, we will welcome him with open arms, just as is the case with any other player. Personally, I focus on doing my job on the pitch and helping the teams secure victories."

On his part, João Cancelo, who scored a wonderful direct free-kick goal in the match, commented, emphasizing Ronaldo's historical value and revealing communication between the players and the Don during the past few days.

Cancelo said: "Cristiano is our captain and the symbol of Portuguese football, undoubtedly the best in the country's history. I have no doubt whatsoever that this matter will end in the best possible way."

Cancelo continued: "Currently, the most important thing is succeeding in achieving four consecutive wins. Everyone delivered an exceptional performance, including Ronaldo himself, and it is time to enjoy this success."

He concluded: "Only the trio Bruno Fernandes, Jesus, and Ronaldo know the dimensions of the situation. It is natural that we communicated with Ronaldo during this week, but I certainly will not reveal details of what was discussed between us."
