The British newspaper Daily Mail revealed a message from Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), to Claudio Tapia, President of the Argentine Football Association, following the 2026 World Cup final.

The Argentine national team topped its group with a perfect record after achieving 3 victories, defeated Cape Verde in the round of 32 by a score of 3-2, and achieved victory against Egypt in the round of 16 with the same score of 3-2.
It defeated Switzerland in the quarter-finals by a score of 3-1 after extra time for two additional halves, and overturned a deficit against England to win 2-1 in the semi-finals.
