A new star at Real Madrid has opened the door to representing the Moroccan national team in the coming period, which represents good news for the Atlas Lions.
Morocco has succeeded in benefiting from the services of players born abroad, and who grew up in Spain, currently shining in its ranks are Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Diaz.
And now Morocco is close to signing a new player in the same way from Real Madrid, who is Thiago Pitarch.
The grandfather of the young Real Madrid midfielder is of Moroccan origin on his father's side, which allows him to play for the Atlas Lions national team. And when "Cadena Ser" radio asked him today, Thursday, about his choice of the national team he wants to represent in the future, he did not rule out Morocco.
Thiago said: "First, we have to win on Saturday, and what comes in the future, which is still far away, will come. That's all there is to it."
The midfielder added: "I see the matter as very far away. First, here with the under-19 national team, and what comes will come."
Pitarch is currently with the Spanish youth national team, and will face Germany in the final next week.
Despite representing Spain in the youth categories, Thiago has not closed the door to the Moroccan national team, as he left the door open to that step.
