Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, announced the fate of Hossam Hassan, coach of the Egyptian national team, after the achievement made by the team in the 2026 World Cup.
The Egyptian Association stated, in a statement via its "Facebook" page, today, Wednesday, that Abu Rida confirmed the council's approval to renew the contract with Hossam Hassan and his brother Ibrahim, the team director.
He added that the board of directors of the association will complete the contract renewal procedures during its next meeting, after his return to Egypt, without clarifying the details of the new contract.

The Egyptian Association's decision comes hours after the Egyptian national team's exit from the round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup at the hands of Argentina, the title holders, after a difficult match that witnessed exciting events.

The Egyptian national team's delegation is scheduled to return from the United States of America the day after tomorrow, Friday.
Hossam Hassan, 59 years old, assumed the leadership of the Pharaohs' national team in February 2024, and led it in 35 matches, both official and friendly.
The Brigadier led the Egyptian national team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and also reached the round of 16 of the World Cup and the semi-finals of the continental championship with him.
