The meeting between Hossam Hassan, head coach of the Egyptian national team, and South Africa’s Pitso Mosimani, head coach of the South African national team, is renewed after five years since their last encounter, but this time at the helm of their respective national teams.

The Egyptian national football team will face South Africa in a friendly match during the upcoming international break in October.

The match between Egypt and South Africa will be held at 9:00 PM on October 4, at the Cairo International Stadium, as preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Group 2, which includes Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.

Hossam Hassan vs. Mosimani: Who will prevail?

Hossam Hassan and Pitso Mosimani have previously met in three encounters, but the context was different at the time, as the former was the head coach of Al-Ittihad Alexandria, while the latter was leading Al-Ahly.

In the three previous meetings, Mosimani outperformed Hossam Hassan, winning all the matches.

The first encounter took place in the Egypt Cup semi-finals, ending with Al-Ahly defeating Al-Ittihad Alexandria 2-1.

In the 2020-2021 Egyptian Premier League season, Al-Ahly under Mosimani repeated their dominance over Al-Ittihad Alexandria under Hossam Hassan, winning the first-leg match 4-0, before securing another victory in the second-leg match 2-1.

Hossam Hassan is seeking his first victory over Mosimani, but this time in a different matchup, bringing together the Egyptian and South African national teams.
