Hisham Nasr, Vice President of Zamalek, stated on the "Zamalkawy" podcast: "The idea of investing the land for Zamalek's new branch was a pioneering vision by the board of directors, and many Egyptian clubs have begun following the same approach after the success of this experiment."
He added, "When I was at the Handball Federation, my dream was to establish a sports hall complex, and we participated in implementing several sports facilities, but the greater dream was to create Zamalek's new branch."
He continued, "Sports in Egypt do not generate direct profits; the real returns come from real estate assets. Therefore, clubs that possess more branches achieve greater financial stability through memberships, academies, and various income sources."
He further stated, "The land had been owned by the club for years without being utilized, and we proposed an idea that I confirm all Egyptian clubs will follow. What angered me most at the time was the volume of accusations we faced, but the response came swiftly with a decision under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which proved the validity of our vision and vindicated what we were striving for."
He emphasized, "I was surprised by some Zamalek affiliates who attacked the club, which exacerbated the crisis. However, after the decision was issued, other clubs began requesting the implementation of the same idea, and more than one club will follow this approach."
He concluded his remarks, "I thank everyone who supported Zamalek in this file, foremost among them Mohamed Megahed, Ashraf Sobhy, Sherif El-Sharbini, and Walid Abbas, alongside Hussein Labib and the Zamalek board of directors. I had hoped the club would receive moral support from other clubs before they later adopted the same idea."
The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the resolution of the crisis concerning the land for Zamalek Club's new branch, following directives from the political leadership to expedite the procedures for allocating a plot of land in a distinguished area of 6th of October City.
The club is required to submit a comprehensive engineering, financial, and legal project for its utilization, according to a statement from the Ministry of Sports.
