Mohamed Ibrahim, the goalkeeper of Al Ahly's handball team, thanked the team's fans after winning the bronze medal at the Handball Club World Cup.
Al Ahly defeated Zamalek 30-25 to secure the bronze medal in the Handball Club World Cup held in Egypt.
Mohamed Ibrahim wrote on his "Facebook" account:
Amidst the celebrations, I want to thank those who stood behind us from day one and waited five hours before the bronze medal match. What they did in the stands was honorable in front of the entire world, and no matter how much I speak about them, I cannot fully repay their debt. Congratulations to Stand No. 1 in Egypt.
This is the second time Al Ahly has won the bronze medal at the Club World Cup since 2024, when they defeated Barcelona. At that time, Al Ahly became the first non-European team to beat Barcelona in the tournament.
Al Ahly's best achievement in the tournament remains winning the silver medal in 2007.
Ibrahim saved 6 out of 19 shots on goal against Zamalek in the bronze medal match.
