Haitham Hassan, the player who recently transferred to the ranks of Scottish Celtic, confirmed that his mission is to entertain the team's fans with his technical skills.
Scottish club Celtic had announced yesterday evening, Wednesday, its contract with Haitham Hassan, coming from Spanish Real Oviedo, with a contract extending for 4 upcoming seasons, with the option to extend for an additional season.
Haitham Hassan said in his interview with Celtic's channel: "I am extremely grateful to be here and very happy, as it is a historic club, and when I was young, it always participated in the Champions League and includes big players, so I look forward with eagerness to playing with the team".
The Egyptian right winger added: "What can the fans expect from me? For me, football is fun, and my first mission is to please the crowds that come to the stadium".
He continued: "From a footballing perspective, I describe myself as a skilled winger, as I love one-on-one duels, as well as decisive passes with my teammates".
He added: "I am still 24 years old, and I have a lot to develop, but I hope to give my best, and I believe the time is right for me to move from Spain, because I spent six years there".
He continued: "With Celtic's historic legacy, its great players, its wonderful fans, and its passionate atmosphere, I believe this is the perfect moment for me. I know I am joining a big club, the biggest club in Scotland, and I look forward with eagerness to the next step".
Hassan believes that his experiences in French and Spanish football have helped refine his skills as a player, and that moving abroad at a young age gave him the opportunity to develop off the pitch, as he said: "I have experienced two different styles of football, which has made me a more mature player".
He added: "On a personal level, leaving France at the age of eighteen, discovering a new country, and learning a new language, Spanish, was a big challenge for me".
Haitham Hassan concluded his statements by saying: "This is what I want to do here as well, learn English, experience a new culture, and discover a new style of football. I am very excited about that".
