Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, confirmed that he hopes the refereeing crew for the Morocco match will deliver the same level shown by François Letexier, referee of the Egypt-Argentina match.
The French coach's statements come despite Letexier's mistakes, which caused the Egyptian national team to be eliminated from the 2026 World Cup.
The French national team will face Morocco at exactly 11:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, in the quarter-final round of the World Cup.
Argentine referee Facundo Tello will officiate the France-Morocco match.
Deschamps was asked about the Argentine crew and the possibility of its influence on the match, and said at the press conference: "I have no doubts regarding the possibility of influences, and I am keen to trust the referees".
He added: "I hope that Facundo Tello and his assistants, who will officiate our match tomorrow, will be at the same level as François Letexier (referee of the Egypt-Argentina match) and his crew".
He continued: "There are always controversial decisions; it all depends on your point of view. As for me, my opponent is Morocco, and I will not consider the referee an opponent; on the contrary, he is there to apply the laws of the game with the greatest possible justice and fairness".
