Former Belgian star lashes out at Troup

Danish coach Jess Thorup, the former manager of Al Ahly, has faced criticism due to the poor start of his team, Belgian side Genk, after seven rounds of the current season.

Thorup took charge of Genk last summer for a second stint with the Belgian club, but the start has not met expectations, as the team sits in tenth place with nine points.

The Danish newspaper "Tipsbladet" highlighted the criticism directed at the former Al Ahly coach, noting the pressure surrounding Thorup due to the team's results and performance since the beginning of the season.

The paper quoted Marc Degryse, a former Belgium national team star, who criticized Genk's style under Thorup, stating that he does not yet see clear patterns in the team's attacking play.

Degryse said: "Thorup has not yet succeeded in establishing clear attacking patterns for his team, and I do not see a clear structure."

He added: "How will we create space? How will we make runs? I don't know, we have to see, and this is a problem."

The former Belgium star pointed out an issue within the team, emphasizing that Genk needs to improve its results and performance in the coming period.

Thorup had left Al Ahly last June before returning to Genk to begin a new tenure with the Belgian club.
