Fatih Tekke, the technical director of the Turkish team Trabzonspor, broke his silence to respond to circulating reports about his club's interest in signing Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, confirming that there are no official developments yet regarding the deal.
Tekke's statements came after Trabzonspor's 1-0 victory over Italian side Udinese in a friendly match as part of the team's preparations for the new season during its training camp in Austria.
The Turkish coach spoke about his team's preparations over the past period, noting that the camp had been positive, and said in statements reported by "HT Spor": "Overall, the first and second phases of the training camp went well; we finished without injuries or serious injuries, and that is the most important thing for us."
He added: "Today, despite playing on a pitch that is not ideal, in very hot conditions and after a long journey, the players delivered an outstanding performance in handling the situations we wanted, whether with or without the opponent. It was a fruitful camp for us."
Regarding the truth of Trabzonspor's negotiations with Mohamed Salah, Fatih Tekke said: "There is nothing official yet regarding Salah. It is very important for a player like Salah to be linked with Trabzonspor; this is something of great value."
The Trabzonspor coach continued: "But instead of creating expectations through talk, we are trying to build confidence through hard work; at the moment there is nothing to talk about on this subject."
Mohamed Salah's name has recently been linked with moves to several European and Turkish clubs amid uncertainty about his future, with Trabzonspor reportedly among the clubs most interested in signing the player.
