Enrique ignites the race for the most decorated European coaches

Spanish Luis Enrique, the technical director of French club Paris Saint-Germain, achieved a historic feat after being crowned with the European Super Cup title.

Paris Saint-Germain club was crowned with the European Super Cup title at the expense of its English counterpart Aston Villa yesterday Wednesday, by two goals to one.

Enrique ignites the race for the most decorated European coach

Luis Enrique continued to cement his place among the greatest coaches in the history of European football, after raising his tally to 6 European titles following the European Super Cup win.

The Spanish coach equalled the achievement of Italian Giovanni Trapattoni and Scottish legend Sir Alex Ferguson, placing him just one title away from his compatriot Pep Guardiola, who sits in second place with 7 titles.

Meanwhile, Italian Carlo Ancelotti, current coach of the Brazil national team, remains at the top with 10 European titles.

Luis Enrique’s European record includes three UEFA Champions League titles, starting with Barcelona in the 2014-2015 season, before leading Paris Saint-Germain to make history by winning the continental title twice in a row, in addition to three other European Super Cup titles, bringing his total European trophies to six.
