England defeated their hosts, the Czech Republic, by 2-0 in a match played at Eden Arena as part of Matchday 2 of the UEFA Nations League group stage.

With this result, England raised their points tally to 3, sitting second in Group 3 behind Spain, who lead the group with 6 points.

England had lost their opening group match against Spain 3-2, while the Czechs also lost to Croatia 2-1 in the same round.

On the other hand, the Czech Republic continued to sit at the bottom of the group after suffering their second consecutive defeat, remaining in last place without any points.

In the sixth minute, Pavel Šulc created the first dangerous chance for the home side, shooting from inside the penalty area, but goalkeeper Trafford saved it.

The left post played the hero's role in preventing England's first goal, denying Morgan Rogers from scoring the opener as his shot hit the post in the 16th minute.

In the 25th minute, the referee showed a red card to Czech player Pavel Šulc following a violent tackle on an England player, after consulting VAR technology.

England's first goal came through Anthony Gordon, who headed Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross from the right into the far left corner of the Czech goalkeeper's net, announcing the first goal in the 47th minute.

In the 69th minute, captain Harry Kane doubled England's lead with a second goal, a low, sliding shot from inside the penalty area that settled to the left of the goalkeeper.

Rogers nearly added a third goal for England in the 80th minute, rising above the defenders inside the penalty area, but his header went wide.

In the closing stages, England maintained their control, and the match ended with a 2-0 victory for the Three Lions.
