Imam Ashour, the Egyptian national team player, apologized to the Egyptian fans after exiting the 2026 World Cup at the hands of the Argentine national team.

Imam Ashour wrote on his official account on Instagram: "Praise be to God for everything.. There are defeats that hurt more than any words, and this is one of them".

The player who scored two goals in the 2026 World Cup added: "Sorry to everyone who was attached to the dream, and to everyone who believed in us, and was waiting for us to make them happy. We wanted to continue the journey and achieve what befits your support.. We fought with everything we had, but it is God's will and what He willed happened".

He continued: "All thanks and appreciation to the technical staff, and to all my fellow players for the effort, spirit, and fighting until the last moment, and the greatest thanks to everyone who supported us and stood behind us and believed in us from the first day to the last minute".

Imam Ashour concluded his statements by saying: "A promise that we will return stronger, and we will continue to fight with everything we have to make you happy and honor the name of Egypt.. Long live Egypt always".
