Canada's junior national team defeated their Egyptian counterparts 4-2 in the match held between the two teams on Saturday evening, as part of the fifth and sixth place playoff in the International Friendship Friendly Tournament.

The events of the match, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, were of average quality, with mutual control over the flow of play by both teams, though Canada had a slight advantage.

Hussein Abdel Latif, the head coach of Egypt's junior national team, was keen to give opportunities to as many players as possible during the match against Canada, as several players who had not started in previous matches participated.

Canada led by two goals without reply in the first half, before the Pharaohs' performance improved in the second half, where each team scored two goals, ending the match with a Canadian victory of four goals to two.

With this result, Egypt's under-18 junior national team finished in sixth and last place in the International Friendship Friendly Tournament held in Switzerland.

Ambassador Mohamed Nagm, Egypt's ambassador to Switzerland, made a point of visiting the accommodation of the 2009-born national team before the delegation departed for the match against Canada, in order to support and encourage them.

It is worth noting that Egypt's junior national team began its campaign in the International Friendship Friendly Tournament with a defeat against England 2-1, followed by another defeat by the same scoreline against Colombia, before suffering a third loss against Canada.
