Muhammad Abdul Wahed, the assistant coach of the Egyptian national team technical staff, confirmed that they were aiming to advance to the semi-final round of the 2026 World Cup, before the end of the journey at the hands of the Argentine national team.
Muhammad Abdul Wahed, the assistant coach of the Egyptian national team technical staff, said in statements via On Sport channel: "Our goal as a technical staff and players was to reach the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup".
He continued: "We scored many goals and presented distinguished levels defensively and offensively against the competitors".
He added: "We presented an offensive performance and did not suffice with defensive caution against big teams in the World Cup".
He explained: "What we presented in the World Cup represents the result of two and a half years of work, during which we reached the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations and the round of 16 in the World Cup".
