Zamalek coach Mohamed Gamal decided to give his players a break from training tomorrow, Monday, following the loss to El Sharqia ENPCC.
El Sharqia ENPCC defeated Zamalek 2-1 in a friendly match held at Petrosport Stadium.
The team is scheduled to return to training on Tuesday to prepare for their match against Zed FC in the Egypt Capital Cup tournament.
The match will take place next Wednesday, October 7th, at Al Mokawloon Stadium.
The match was attended by Hossam El-Zanaty, assistant sporting director of Danish club Nordsjælland and a candidate for the position of sporting director at Zamalek. (Read more)
Zamalek started the match with the following lineup: Mohamed Sobhy, Mahmoud Bentayk, Mahmoud Hamdy "El-Wensh", Mostafa El-Zanary, Omar Gaber, Ahmed Rabie, Mohamed Shata, Abdullah El-Said, Ahmed Abdel-Rahim "Eisho", Ahmed Sherif, and Saif Gaafar.
El Sharqia ENPCC took the lead through Kahraba, who scored from a penalty kick placed to the left of Mohamed Sobhy in the 9th minute.
Mohamed El-Nahhas added the second goal four minutes later after a clear one-on-one opportunity.
Eisho missed a chance to reduce the deficit in the 21st minute, but nine minutes later he scored Zamalek's first goal through individual effort.
In the 33rd minute, the post denied Zamalek an equalizer after a powerful header from Ahmed Rabie, following a precise cross from Mahmoud Bentayk from the left flank.
At the start of the second half, Zamalek's technical staff brought on Nasser Mansi and Mohamed Awad instead of Saif Gaafar and Mohamed Sobhy. The White Knights intensified their attacking attempts to score, and the coaching staff also substituted Mohamed Ismail and Hossam Ashraf for Mostafa El-Zanary and Ahmed Sherif.
In the 68th minute, Zamalek's technical staff introduced Ahmed El-Gaffali and Mohamed Wanees in place of Ahmed Abdel-Rahim "Eisho" and Abdullah El-Said, followed by Sayed Osama replacing Omar Gaber.
In the 79th minute, Mohamed Awad saved a header from an El Sharqia ENPCC striker, and Zamalek's technical staff brought on Ahmed Khoudry instead of Mahmoud Bentayk, as the match ended with a victory for El Sharqia ENPCC.
Zamalek had previously won against Modern Sport 4-3 in their first friendly match during the current international break.
