Belgium suffered a significant blow ahead of their highly anticipated match against France, as it was confirmed that star player Kevin De Bruyne would miss the game due to suspension.
The Belgian national team is set to face its French counterpart next Monday in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.
According to the French website "Foot Mercato," De Bruyne's suspension was confirmed after he received a yellow card during Belgium's recent match against Turkey, having also been booked in the previous game against Italy. This accumulation resulted in a ban for the upcoming fixture under the tournament regulations.
De Bruyne had delivered an impressive performance in the match against Turkey, directly contributing to his national team's 3-0 victory by scoring two goals.
Belgium's troubles are not limited to the loss of De Bruyne alone, as the team will also be without midfielder Youri Tielemans due to suspension. This forces the coaching staff to seek alternative solutions to compensate for two of the most experienced players in midfield.
On the other hand, the French national team will enter the match facing its own significant absence in defense, with defender Dayot Upamecano confirmed to miss out following his red card in the previous match against Italy.
