Crystal Palace announces the signing of Mingueza

The English Crystal Palace club officially announced its signing of the Spaniard Óscar Mingueza on a contract that extends for 4 years.

Mingueza joined Crystal Palace in a free transfer deal from Celta Vigo, becoming the first signing of the new coach Pierre Sage during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old Spanish defender is capable of playing in more than one position in the backline, whether as a center-back or full-back.

Mingueza has 4 international matches with the Spain national team shirt, and was a starter in the 2025 UEFA Nations League final.

Mingueza began his career in Barcelona's La Masia academy, before moving up to the first team in 2020, winning the Copa del Rey the following year, then playing 66 matches for the Catalan club before transferring to Celta Vigo in the summer of 2022.

The player also possesses significant European experience, after being selected in the Team of the Season in the 2025-2026 Europa League, following his contribution to Celta Vigo reaching the quarter-finals.

Mingueza said after announcing his joining the team: "I am very excited to be here".

He continued, "It is a great honor to join Crystal Palace, and I cannot wait to see you at Selhurst Park stadium".

Mingueza played 147 matches with Celta Vigo, scoring 7 goals and providing 15 assists.
