Khaled Refaat, a member of the Board of Directors of the Clubs Association, spoke about the sale of the football company at Zamalek Club, in addition to the draw of the Egyptian League this season, confirming that the brilliance of the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup confirms the quality of the Egyptian League.
Refaat said in television statements via the "On Sport Max" channel: "Last season's league was distinguished and exceptional in terms of the regularity of the schedule, stadiums, transmission, television broadcasting, development in the quality of media coverage, and the form of competitions".
He added: "What the Egyptian national team achieved in the World Cup and its remarkable brilliance confirms the quality of the Egyptian League. We always used to suffer from chaos in the league celebration and the night of crowning the champion, but last season the situation was completely different".
He continued: "We will start the league on August 21 and it will end at the end of May, after which a second draw will be held for the second stage of the league after determining the clubs that will compete for the title, as well as on the other side determining the competitors for relegation".
He completed: "Broadcasting and sponsorship profits are partly for second division clubs, and we succeeded in introducing the Egypt Capital Cup tournament, whose prizes last season were approximately 25 million pounds, in addition to its champion participating in the Super Cup, and there is money for the clubs participating in the Super Cup, all financial advantages provided by the association to the clubs, and the return from broadcasting and sponsorship increased by 300% from before".

He touched on the talk about the football company at Zamalek Club, saying: "What is happening in the football company, it is supposed to present your assets in football and your history, championships, and stars to a specialized office that evaluates the club in every aspect, and based on this evaluation, the matter is presented to investors, and this is a followed and precise matter that gets you out of crises and disputes with investors, and this is an important procedural step".
He concluded: "After that, searching for an investor, instead of waiting for an investor to arrive, and you must have a complete strategy, and this is supposed to be done in the football company in detail".
