The Egyptian national team suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of their South African counterparts, losing 1-0 in a friendly match held at Cairo International Stadium, which was particularly exciting in the second half.

Cameras captured a special greeting between Pitso Mosimane, the coach of the South African national team, and the Egyptian fans present at Cairo International Stadium.

The greeting came after he entered the pitch before the start of the match, making a "heart" gesture to the Pharaohs' supporters, with whom he shares a special bond due to his previous tenure as Al Ahly's coach.

South Africa scored their only goal following an error by goalkeeper Mostafa Shobier, with Bosu Ditehejan finding the net.

There was also a special embrace between Ahmed Fathy, the former Al Ahly star, and Pitso Mosimane, coach of Bafana Bafana, having previously played under him while at the Red Devils.

The match saw tension in the second half, following a clash between players from both teams and the coaching staff, after Ibrahim Hassan, the Egypt national team manager, received a yellow card.

The crossbar denied the national team an equalizing goal in stoppage time, deflecting Ibrahim Adel's follow-up shot after Osama Faisal's header had been saved by the visiting goalkeeper.
