Chelsea FC finalized a new deal today during the current summer transfer window, as the Blues continue to strengthen their squad in pursuit of a strong season under the guidance of their manager, Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea reached an agreement with Aston Villa to sign goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on a three-year contract, valid until June 2029.

Emiliano Martinez stated that he is determined to achieve success with Chelsea and wants to share his experience and desire to win with his teammates.
Martinez said in an interview with Chelsea's official website: "I am truly happy to be joining this club. The decision to move to Chelsea was easy for me and my family, and I am very happy and cannot wait to start my journey here."

He added: "I want to succeed here. I am a person who strives to win in everything I do in life, and I want to bring that spirit to Chelsea, as it is a club accustomed to winning titles. Therefore, I believe that moving to this club was the right decision for me."
He explained: "I try to win every match I play, regardless of who I am facing. I will try to bring this spirit to Chelsea. Playing for this club is a dream for me. I am fully ready now and wanted the transfer to be completed quickly so that I could wear this club's shirt as soon as possible."
He continued: "I spent many years at Aston Villa, and I will always love that club. Now, I want to make the Chelsea fans proud of me. I will give my best for this badge, whether we are playing at home or away. I want to win every match I play."
Emiliano Martinez is expected to start as the first-choice goalkeeper in the coming period, especially given Robert Sanchez's poor form at the beginning of this season.
