Chelsea Club announced the signing of French defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Chelsea revealed the signing of the French defender on a long-term contract extending until 2032.
Lacroix said in statements to the official Chelsea website: "I am truly happy to join this wonderful club. Everyone knows Chelsea's legend and its winning traditions, and to be part of that is a moment of pride."
He added, "When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we share the same direction and desire for this club."
He continued, "We want to win. When you see the quality of the players here and everything we have at the club, you realize we are capable of achieving that. Our ambition is to lift trophies, and I am eager to contribute."
Lacroix joined Chelsea for £52 million.
Lacroix played 98 matches for Crystal Palace over two seasons.
He won the UEFA Europa Conference League, the FA Cup, and the FA Community Shield with Crystal Palace.
Lacroix, a graduate of the Sochaux Academy, played 28 matches for the French team before joining German side Wolfsburg in August 2020.
He spent 4 years with the German team and played in 130 matches before moving to Crystal Palace.
Lacroix was included in the France national team squad for the World Cup and played in 3 matches in the tournament.
