The matches involving Al Ahly and Zamalek in the African Handball Championship, held in Angola, have been cancelled.
The African Championship is taking place in the Angolan capital, Luanda, from October 4 to 14 of this month.
Al Ahly was scheduled to play against Interclube of Angola, while Zamalek was set to face Rwanda Defence Force on Monday evening.
Hany El-Nagdy, manager of Al Ahly's handball team, stated that all teams were informed about a new technical meeting at 4:00 PM today to discuss developments and determine the revised tournament schedule, following two teams' withdrawal from participation earlier this morning.
The team manager noted that the meeting might result in further adjustments to the tournament format and group compositions, depending on the number of participating teams after the recent withdrawals.
It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly won the bronze medal last Thursday by defeating Zamalek in the World Handball Championship, which was held in the New Administrative Capital.
