Former Juventus player Miralem Pjanic revealed a trick used by then-team manager Massimiliano Allegri to prevent Cristiano Ronaldo from taking a free kick against Napoli.
The Bosnian player said in comments reported by the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport": "When Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Juventus, there was no room for anyone else to take free kicks. He would come and take the ball; with a player like him who makes you win all matches, you stay silent and leave it to him."
He added, "We had previously beaten Napoli with a goal I scored from a free kick. Ronaldo was fouled and won a free kick, but team manager Massimiliano Allegri decided to send in the medical staff to force him off the field. So I took the shot, scored it, and we won."
Ronaldo played 134 matches for Juventus, scoring 101 goals and providing 28 assists.
The Portuguese star moved to Juventus from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 for €117 million.
Ronaldo left for Manchester United in the summer of 2021 for €17 million.
