The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has informed Zamalek club officials that a Cameroonian refereeing team has been appointed to officiate the match against AS Kigali (Rwanda Army), in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the Champions League.

Zamalek will be visiting AS Kigali at 5:00 PM on October 16, at Amahoro Stadium in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, marking the start of the team's campaign in the second preliminary round of the continental tournament.

CAF assigned the management of the match to Cameroonian referee Abdoul Miferi, assisted by his countrymen Elvis Jay Nuboy Ngoujou as the first assistant referee and Rodrique Mini Mbli as the second assistant referee, while Antoine Max Essouma will serve as the fourth official.

The African body also appointed Tanzanian Khalid Abdullah Mohamed as the general match commissioner, while assigning the task of monitoring the refereeing team to Ugandan Ali Molumba Tomusange.

Zamalek is seeking to achieve a positive result away from home during the first-leg match, before playing the return fixture in Cairo, aiming to secure qualification for the next round of the Champions League competition.

Date of the Return Match

It is scheduled that Zamalek will host AS Kigali in the return match on Saturday, October 24, at Cairo International Stadium, at 8:00 PM.

The White Knights hope to benefit from hosting the return match at their stadium and among their fans, to clinch the ticket for qualification to the next round of the continental tournament.

These two matches against AS Kigali come as Zamalek seeks a positive result away from home during the first leg, before facing the return match in Cairo, in pursuit of securing qualification for the next stage of the CAF Champions League.
