The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced that it has received documents from Real Madrid related to the Negreira case concerning FC Barcelona.
Spanish radio station "Cadena SER" revealed that the documents sent by Real Madrid have already reached the investigators of UEFA's Ethics and Disciplinary Body, in preparation for their assessment within the ongoing investigation into the case.
The European football governing body stated in an official release: "UEFA can confirm receipt from Real Madrid of a large volume of documents relating to the ongoing investigation regarding FC Barcelona in the case concerning José María Enriquez Negreira, former Vice President of the Technical Committee of Referees at the Royal Spanish Football Federation."
It continued, "The investigators of UEFA's Ethics and Disciplinary Body have also received these latest documents and will take them into consideration as part of the ongoing analysis of the case."
Real Madrid had announced last June that it had submitted documents to UEFA regarding the case, while confirming that the documents include evidence linked to payments received by Negreira from Barcelona.
The Spanish judiciary previously formally charged FC Barcelona as an entity, along with its former presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, and former refereeing official José María Enriquez Negreira.
This comes against the backdrop of transfers made from Barcelona to a company owned by Negreira.
