The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh reported that Al-Hilal's management offered Karim Benzema a transfer to one of the newly promoted clubs, an offer the player rejected.
Sky Sports revealed that Benzema's departure is complicated by contractual issues, as the French striker receives part of his salary from entities affiliated with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, meaning that terminating his contract depends not only on reaching an agreement between the player and Al-Hilal.
Benzema said in a statement to Rotana Khalijia channel: "My future? I am playing football here, and we will see what happens. I have a contract with the club, and everything is fine."
The Al-Hilal striker spoke after the team's match against Al-Fayha in the second round of the Saudi League: "It was a good match... It was difficult to play due to the heat, but in the end, we won the game."
Al-Hilal defeated Al-Fayha 3-0, following their 4-2 victory over Al-Fayha in the first round.
Benzema added, "We are happy to have collected six points, and thus we have successfully accomplished the task."
The French striker concluded, "We are improving and training well, and we strive to be better."
Benzema did not score against Al-Fayha, while he scored a goal against Al-Fayha from a penalty kick.
The Frenchman has played 16 matches for Al-Hilal in various competitions since joining the club.
During this period, he scored 10 goals, including two hat-tricks, and provided five assists.
