Media personality Ahmed Shobier spoke about the behind-the-scenes of the contract renewal crisis for Mohamed Hany, the right-back of Al Ahly Club, ahead of the match against Smouha in the Egyptian League.
Al Ahly is scheduled to face Smouha at 8:00 PM today, Thursday, in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League at the Cairo International Stadium.
Shobier said on his radio program on "On Sport": "There is only one issue regarding the renewal of Mohamed Hany's contract with Al Ahly, concerning the appearance rate and the bonus."

He continued: "No one is outbidding for Mohamed Hany. He has played over 400 matches for Al Ahly Club, he is a product of the club, and he has been with the club for more than 20 years."
He added: "Al Ahly previously followed a system that exempted a player from the appearance rate clause upon reaching 200 matches, then raised it to 300 matches, before finally settling on applying a unified policy to all players."
He concluded: "The negotiations with Hany are about how the 10 million Egyptian pounds bonus is calculated, which is linked to results, winning the league and the Confederation Cup, and the player's actual appearance rate in matches."
